How much coal

Postby Rich Alpha on Wed Mar 29, 2017 8:51 pm

We have recently bought a house which has a forties Model CB solid fuel Aga. Inevitably we now love it after 6 months of use and with a little forward planning find it versatile to cook anything we wish.
My question is how much fuel does anyone else use in a a solid fuel Aga? I think we are getting through 500kg of Stove Nuts in just under 3 months. That is costing us £200, so I estimate £900-£1000 per year. To me that sounds like a cheap way to run an Aga.

Sounds good berby. I will look at your Conversion Running Log thread for more detail when I get chance.

Ultimately we will probably be going electric as the work we wish to do to our kitchen will be a lot easier without a chimney/flue.
